| I am a Phd candidate and graduate research assistant in Department of Biomedical Engineering , Washington University in St. Louis . My advisors are Dr. Joseph A. O'Sullivan in Electronic Signals and System Research Laboratory, Department of Electrical and System Engineering , Washington University in St Louis and Dr. Yuan Chuan Tai, Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology , Washington University in St. Louis. |
| My doctoral research topic is to develop image reconstruction algorithms and correction techniques for a novel PET-insert system. I am also interested in working on other issues related to PET imaging such as dynamic imaging, Time of Flight PET, develop techniques to optimize scanning geometry. Besides PET imaging, I have a broad interest in other imaging modalities especially CT, optical imaging. I also worked for sometime with Brachytherapy Research Group , Electrical and System Engineering, Washington University in St. Louis. The group is interested in reducing metal artifacts in CT imaging. Dr. O'Sullivan has developed his own Alternating minimization algorithm which is based on minimizing the I-divergence. I was the President of Association of Graduate Engineering Students and also the Undergraduate student representative at IIT Kharagpur . Part of being the President, I was responsible for organizing social and academic activities to cater the graduate engineering students. We managed to organize a talk by Phdcomics author Jorge Cham which was attended by around 250 graduate students and was a huge success. I was born in Ahmednagar, India and received my Bachelors in Technology (Hons) in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur . I grew up in several different places all over India having different languages and cultures. Other than working on my research, I love playing cricket, tennis, volleyball, reading novels, watching movies, and outdoor activities. I like taking leadership responsibilities and working in a group. |
